15th G.B. Memorial Lecture was organized on 28th March, 2017 at the Department of Geology, Arya Vidyapeeth College. This Memorial Lecture has been organized continuously every year by our department in the memory of Dr. Gayatri Buzarbaruah where reputed, experienced and highly qualified Geologists from different parts of the country are invited to speak on different topics of Geology.
This year Mr. Somnath Sharma, Director of Geological Survey of India, Guwahati, has visited in this auspicious occasion of Memorial Lecture and showered his blanket of knowledge on the topic " Geology and Mineral Resources of Assam". He acknowledged us with many vital facts about field geology. Along with him his associate Mr S. N. Bhagat has also spoken many words on the ongoing project of iron ore exploration at Chandradinga, Assam. Also many literate Geologists from different institutes and aluminis of the department were also present in the lecture.
